Trading Systems Engineer, Cumberland Mining

DRW is seeking a Trading Systems Engineer to join the Cumberland team. You will work closely with trading, infrastructure and software development teams to provide comprehensive support for our technology platform. Your role involves communicating directly with counterparties, exchanges, traders and developers to resolve complex technical problems and ensure smooth operations.
- Establish best-in-class production support and efficient software deployment with proactive monitoring to anticipate and prevent issues
- Maintain health and availability of the trading ecosystem while minimizing downtime
- Respond to support requests from traders and software engineers
- Collaborate with external trading partners such as exchanges and clearing firms to resolve technical issues
- Work in a 24x7 environment across global teams to ensure continuity and consistency of support
- Build documentation for procedures, troubleshooting scenarios and system architecture
Requirements
- 2+ years working in the financial industry
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field
- Exposure to VCS, particularly Git/Github
- Demonstrated scripting abilities in Python and Bash
- Comfortable with SQL
- Comfortable with Linux and the command-line
- Service-oriented mindset
- Experience with proprietary trading systems and troubleshooting production incidents resulting from internal (proprietary software / systems) or external factors (markets, data feeds, telecommunication lines)
- Thrives in high-pressure situations while working alongside traders, developers and other engineering teams
- Experience developing proprietary process automation and monitoring tools to streamline software configuration and rollout procedures
- Tenacious in solving complex technical problems
