About the Role

Flow Traders is looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our growing Development team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to work at a leading proprietary trading firm where entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology are at the heart of everything we do.

  • Engineer and evolve a high-performance, distributed trading platform leveraging modern technologies.
  • Partner with quants, traders, and business stakeholders to transform complex requirements into innovative, scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor and inspire junior engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
  • Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends, driving impactful improvements across the technology stack, and integrating third-party tools and platforms into our systems where they add value.
  • Own software quality from end to end by contributing to code reviews, testing, deployment, and adoption, delivering robust, reliable solutions to production.

Requirements

  • Previous working experience in professional software development working with a strongly typed language like C++, Java, Rust and ability to be productive in any language leveraging AI
  • In-depth understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong sense of teamwork and ownership and willingness to learn new skills
  • Experienced in using LLM augmented development and rapid prototyping
  • Comfortable participating in on-call operations rotation
  • BSc or MSc in Computing Science, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
