Equity Research Analyst

IMC is looking for an Analyst to drive forward a rapidly growing research team that supports its extensive Equity Options trading business. The position will work hand in hand with experienced team members, senior traders, and senior management to build IMC's proprietary research platform. The role includes all functions of a research analyst, driving critical thinking about company analysis and its impact on equity options market dynamics, where decisions have direct impact on the company's trading profits.
- Provide real-time news analysis to traders and assess potential impact
- Provide critical feedback on company analysis and equity options market impacts
- Construct possible outcomes for short and medium-term equity moving events
- Monitor major US sectors: Biotech, Healthcare, Financials, Energy, Tech, and Industrial
- Manage risk by analyzing company events and their expected impacts with the trading team
- Challenge the status quo and help create a vision for the future of the IMC research team
Requirements
- 1+ years' experience as an equity analyst/associate in a trading environment
- Proven experience covering a broad range of sectors with willingness to adapt focus based on evolving opportunities
- Comfort working with incomplete information, utilizing quantitative information and supplementing with qualitative insight
- Experience with programming in Python, R or Matlab (plus)
- Strong Options knowledge including understanding of the Greeks
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment
- Desire to work in a team environment
