Software Engineer – Application Platform

The Application Platform team at IMC helps turn IMC software into running applications. You will develop and operate scalable, self-service systems and tools to configure, distribute, deploy, upgrade, and operate trading and supporting components in data centers around the world. Your responsibilities include developing high-performance, globally distributed Go applications, collaborating with teams across local and global operations, and partnering with customers to understand their needs and design platform capabilities. You will own the end-to-end service lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and continuous improvement, balance complex trade-offs between performance and maintainability, and support the team's systems during Sydney business hours.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience and proficiency in a programming language is required (Go, Python, or Java)
- Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments
- Exposure to distributed computing and modern cloud-native software design
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- You have a DevOps mindset and are comfortable working across the entire application lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and operations
- Prior knowledge of financial markets or trading is not required, but curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential
