Software Engineer – BP&A

The BP&A Team sits at the heart of IMC's operations, partnering closely with finance, trading, and middle office teams. As the business intelligence and analysis function, the team turns complex data into insights that drive real decisions, working globally across Chicago, Amsterdam, and Sydney and reporting into a Global Lead.
- Own meaningful pieces of system development, maintenance, process improvement, and automation, including database and front-end work.
- Partner with BI developers to shape best practices and work directly with finance, operations, and trading teams to keep the BP&A ecosystem running smoothly.
- Build tools that boost efficiency, streamline data processing, and cut load times.
- Build high-end dashboards and visualization tools for stakeholders globally.
- Work with large data sets and data pipelines supporting storage, retrieval, and analysis across the finance organization.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or another quantitative field
- 2–5 years software engineering experience, ready to make an immediate impact
- Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor)
- Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI, Jira)
- Experience working in containerized environments (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
- Cloud experience required - AWS a plus
- Exposure to finance processes or AI/ML engineering a plus
