Data Strategist

A Data Strategist who understands the external data landscape, identifies datasets that could improve trading operations, and procures that data. You'll partner closely with traders, researchers, and colleagues to understand their work, advise on relevant data options, and compare vendor offerings. The role involves attending conferences, following industry developments, meeting vendors, and investigating sources for valuable data. You'll manage vendor relationships, vet products, negotiate contract terms, and coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Data Engineering teams to bring datasets into production use.
Responsibilities
- Join Jane Street as a Data Strategist on the Data Strategy team, working to make data available and usable across the firm.
Requirements
- Professionally experienced with sourcing, evaluating, and procuring datasets
- Analytical, curious, and quick to build expertise in new areas
- Able to build strong relationships with colleagues across the firm and with outside vendors
- Able to manage multiple concurrent projects and context-switch throughout the day
- A strong written and verbal communicator
