About the Role

You'll help build models, strategies, and systems that price and trade financial instruments, working side by side with experienced researchers. You'll learn about experiment design, dataset generation, time series analysis, feature engineering, and model building for financial datasets.

At Jane Street, researchers, engineers, and traders work closely together on a large scale—using petabytes of data, computing clusters with hundreds of thousands of cores, and tens of thousands of high-end GPUs. You may spend your days diving deep into market data, tuning hyperparameters, debugging distributed training performance, or studying how your model trades in production.

We apply all different types of statistical and ML techniques, from linear models to deep learning, depending on what best fits a given problem. The most successful researchers are driven by curiosity about how their contributions fit into the larger picture of trading operations and how to adapt findings into actionable strategies.
