About the Role

Jump Trading Group is looking for a seasoned Technical Project Manager to drive the delivery of complex, high-impact projects within one of our quantitative trading teams. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, quantitative research, and trading, coordinating the people, timelines, and dependencies required to support mission-critical software and a dynamic research infrastructure.

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of technical projects spanning trading platforms, execution infrastructure, and quant research tooling, from scoping through launch.
  • Partner with engineers, quantitative researchers, and traders to translate ambitious goals into clear plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, surface risks early, and keep initiatives on track in a fast-moving, low-latency environment.
  • Establish and improve project management practices β€” planning, prioritization, status reporting, and post-mortems β€” that fit an engineering-driven culture.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience managing technical projects or engineering programs, ideally including systems where performance and reliability are critical
  • A background in engineering or computer science β€” whether an academic degree or equivalent hands-on experience as a software engineer or in a closely related technical role
  • The technical fluency to engage credibly with engineers and researchers on architecture, trade-offs, and delivery risk
  • A strong track record of shipping complex projects on time by aligning multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgment to know what to escalate and when
  • Experience in trading, financial markets, or another high-performance, data-intensive domain
  • Familiarity with low-latency systems, distributed infrastructure, or quantitative workflows
