Lead Quantitative Engineer
OptiverAbout the Role
We are looking for an experienced Quantitative Engineer to lead strategy technology teams in India, focused on building trading strategies for Indian markets and beyond. You will work closely with traders and researchers, driving the design and delivery of quantitative trading systems deployed across Indian exchanges (NSE, BSE, MCX) and other APAC exchanges.
As a technical lead, you will mentor and guide team members while collaborating with established teams in Sydney. Your responsibilities include:
- Design and implement quantitative trading systems, including C++ auto-traders and tooling for traders and researchers
- Mentor a team of high-performance engineers
- Partner with trading and research to improve trading systems
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, and production monitoring
- Contribute to strategy and vision for Optiver's Asia Pacific systematic trading capability
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Quantitative Engineer working closely with traders and researchers
- Experience making architectural decisions for quantitative trading systems
- Proven ability to solve technically challenging problems, with a pragmatic and results-driven mindset
- Experience applying machine learning techniques to trading
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with trading, research, and other business teams
- Experience leading projects as a technical owner, driving delivery and influencing design decisions
- Experience working on systematic strategies for options products within a similar trading firm
- Experience directly leading a team
