About the Role

Join Optiver as a Network Engineer supporting high-frequency trading operations in Mumbai. You'll design and manage enterprise and trading networks, optimizing systems for reliability, scalability, and performance characteristics like latency. Responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure, automating network operations, supporting end-to-end deployments across data centres and global WAN environments, ensuring WAN stability between locations, contributing to capacity planning and traffic optimization, and collaborating with developers and engineers to provide a stable platform for trading systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working as a network engineer in an operational environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN, and firewall infrastructure
  • Experience monitoring and operating international WAN networks
  • Solid understanding of network transport and routing protocols such as TCP/UDP, OSPF, BGP, and Multicast
  • Experience working in multi-vendor network environments (e.g. Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto)
  • Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking, firewalls, and network security
  • Experience using monitoring and telemetry systems to analyse network performance and capacity
  • Comfortable working with Unix/Linux systems in data centre environments
  • Experience managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code approaches and tools such as Git, Terraform, or Ansible
  • Ability to coordinate work with vendors, service providers, and remote smart hands
  • Certifications such as Arista ACE, PCNSE, CCNP, or CCIE are a plus
