Software Engineer - Digital Assets
OptiverAbout the Role
Optiver is looking for a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to join their Digital Assets Tech Team in London. In this role, you'll build and evolve trading systems for cryptocurrency markets, working closely with traders and researchers to deliver solutions in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment.
You'll play a key role in building out their digital assets platform, designing and building trading systems for digital asset markets, developing connectivity to centralised exchanges such as Binance, Deribit, and OKX, and improving system reliability through automation, monitoring, and robust recovery mechanisms. Your work will directly impact how they trade in this rapidly growing space, with opportunities to contribute to architecture and help shape the digital assets platform from the ground up.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in trading, crypto, or other real-time systems
- Strong C++ development skills, with experience building reliable production systems
- Hands-on experience integrating with centralised cryptocurrency exchanges (e.g., Binance, Deribit, OKX)
- Experience working with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar) is a plus
- Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, and failure handling
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment, partnering directly with traders and researchers
- Able to translate ambiguous trading requirements into practical engineering solutions
