Middle Officer
OTC FlowAbout the Role
As a Middle Officer, you will be a core member of the Middle Office team at the very heart of the company. You will play a vital role in enabling smooth trading operations across our full suite of environmental commodities and energy markets. You will provide trade execution and decision-making support to the Sales Trading desk and Risk team, manage contract workflows alongside Legal, and ensure accurate financial accounting bookings with Finance. You will also collaborate with our Development team to enhance proprietary trading infrastructure, working directly on the trading floor in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience in middle office, trade support, or post-trade operations within a financial institution, energy company, or commodity trading firm
- Experience or strong interest in energy markets, commodity trading flows, registry transfers, or post-trade operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work across internal desks and external counterparties
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with SQL, VBA, Power BI, or general programming affinity
- Ability to work independently and prioritize dynamic tasks on a live trading floor
- Fluency in German
