About the Role

This January, Virtu Financial will host its annual Women's Winternship program at the New York headquarters, offering students an intense inside view into the world of global trading and financial markets. As a Wintern, you will learn about Virtu's trading practices, technology, and tools while working on your own trading project under mentorship from industry experts.

  • Daily team-based trading puzzles building toward a team capstone project with prizes for winners
  • Training on market-making fundamentals with immersive exercises using expert traders' tools
  • Networking with senior traders and leadership
  • Social events including dinners, NYSE tours, and Broadway shows
  • Early evaluation opportunity for Virtu's 2028 Summer Internship Program

Requirements

  • Excellent academic background (all subjects welcome)
  • Preferred experience in the following areas: Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics
  • Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude
  • Intermediate/Advanced programming experience (Python preferred)
  • Interest in a career in financial services
  • A highly motivated team player: Genuine, well rounded, curious, collaborative person who can work towards collective goals
  • This program is intended for 2nd year undergraduate students who graduate in 2029
