Security Engineer
XTX MarketsAbout the Role
The Information Security team at XTX Markets is accountable for all aspects of the firm's IT security. In this hands-on role, you will work with software engineers to proactively identify security flaws and engineer technical solutions with a defensive mindset. You will work closely with teams to improve detection capabilities and design defence-in-depth controls that limit attackers' ability to move inside the network. Security engineers are engaged in requirements gathering, architecting, prototyping, and developing both internal tools and broader infrastructure across a broad range of security roles and projects, including compliance-related tasks.
Requirements
- Approximately 1-3 years of experience in Information Security
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed language (development at XTX is primarily in Golang, though Go experience is not required; scripting is mainly in Python)
- Knowledge of how systems are built as well as how to break them
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to write clearly and succinctly
- Rapid learner with strong attention to detail
- Able to work autonomously and prioritise as required
- Willing to admit mistakes and seek feedback to improve performance
