Quantitative Trader

About the Role

Quantitative traders at Jane Street identify market signals, analyse and execute strategies, construct quantitative models, conduct statistical analyses, build algorithmic trading systems, manage risk, and develop new businesses.

Trading desks are central to a collaborative and cooperative office environment, where new hires work side by side with experienced traders committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting them.

Through hands-on, interactive training, traders acquire significant trading responsibilities within weeks to months of being on the desk, alongside a robust year-long firmwide educational curriculum.

The lines between research, technology, and trading are intentionally blurry, giving traders access to petabytes of data, a computing cluster with hundreds of thousands of cores, and a growing GPU cluster of tens of thousands of high-end GPUs.

There is no one-size-fits-all modelling approach; traders apply a wide range of statistical and ML techniques, from linear models to deep learning, depending on the problem.
