Trading Operations Specialist

Virtu Financial is a leading financial firm that leverages cutting edge technology to offer liquidity to global markets and innovative, transparent trading solutions to clients. The Operations team is looking for a Trading Operations Specialist to support client bookings and reporting for equities trading across the Asia Pacific region.
- Manage the clearance, settlement, and reconciliation of all trades and positions on behalf of the firm's clients.
- Collaborate closely with traders, finance, compliance, brokers, custodians, and firm customers to ensure timely settlement of trades, accuracy of books and records, and avoidance of unanticipated risk.
- Work closely with software engineers to automate and enhance the robustness of the firm's operations workflows.
- Serve as an expert in the logistics and mechanics of trade clearance and settlement, and represent the firm when dealing directly with external parties under pressure.
Requirements
- Fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years’ work experience in finance back office functions (experience with Australia market will be a huge plus)
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate systems and diagnose issues
- Willingness to work early shift hours (Sydney timezone)
- Familiar with MS Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge with SQL and Python will be an advantage
- Proactive, willing to learn and able to work under pressure
- Attention to detail and a customer service attitude
