Production Engineer

Jane Street Production Engineers are software developers who spend time both developing software and providing high-quality support for critical trading systems. Many are embedded in various software teams while others work in standalone teams alongside application developers to create and run great software systems. The role involves solving real-time issues, making firm-wide impact, and taking ownership of the architecture and design of systems that monitor and support the firm's trading, while designing and developing the tools used across the organization.
- Split time between OCaml software development and a support rotation resolving live issues in critical systems
- Develop breadth of knowledge across different systems and collaborate with multiple dev and business teams
- Gain satisfaction from helping others, enabling good trades, and solving complex production issues
Requirements
- A strong programmer with a love for technology; able to write and read code well
- An intellectually curious person who is motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn
- An excellent communicator, able to be clear and calm during production incidents
- Fluent in English
